Meme

I saw this at Carrie's and then again at Donna's and finally at Jill's. I have finally found the time to do it.

1. What kept you sane this year?
Well, that's a tough one. I had some sanity breaks this year, mainly stemming from my drive for perfection and order that is simply not realistic when you are homeschooling two boys and taking care of a baby. I want to say that what kept me same was putting the boys in school, but that only made me feel worse. Thankfully, those issues have been resolved and I am very happy to say that John wants to come back home and I will homeschool both boys again. I have learned a great deal in the past months, but that's a whole nother kettle of fish!

The one thing that keeps me sane is God's unchanging nature and how, even when I am at my lowest and can't begin to think of getting up and going on, I hear that still, small voice in my head that says, You can do it. You can, you really can. And I somehow get up and go on.

2. What was the best book you read?
I can't decide. You all know how much I loved Between a Rock and a Hard Place by Aron Ralston. Truly, a book that inspires and causes you to think about the curveballs that life can throw at you and how you respond to them. Love this one, I bawled like a baby at the end.

I also loved Secret Life of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd. I have a deep love for books set in the south with quirky characters who use those great southern colloquialisms. This book touched my heart and made me cry.

I sped thru The Nazi Officer's Wife by Edith Beers, a recommendation from Jill. I also devoured The Kite Runner, very sad but awesome book.

3. What was your favorite TV show?
I freely admit that I am a lover of reality television so I would have to say Survivor and Project Runway. But, I also love the Food Network.

4. Who was the best new person you met?
Oh, that's easy, Michele.

5. Tell us a valuable life lesson.
Life is not always greener on the other side of the fence. Be careful what you wish for, you just might get it.

Both of those relate to putting the boys in school and the repercussions of that decision, for me and for them. Like I said, longer post about that later.

And, for Momyblogr:

Look to the finish!

Can I be a big double ditto OR maybe a tritto, lol.

I too enjoy your site. It's funny and refreshing and has a strong foundation on the "solid" ground that I too stand on.

Yes, that still small voice....how great. However, sometimes it rings pretty dang loud for me, lol!
