Book Meme

I have been tagged with a book meme.

Book Meme Rules:

Pick up the nearest book (of at least 123 pages).

Open the book to page 123

Find the fifth sentence.

Post the next three sentences.

Tag five people.

Here goes:

"Mary Bewsher, my neighbor, was a young Australian missionary who was full of bright ideas. We agreed that the four-ply was necessary for table tops and unnecessary for partitions. We and all our neighbors got busy."

From the book Three Came Home by Agnes Newton Keith. This is her true story, a woman who survived over three years in a Japanese interment camp with her toddler son. You will cry and ache with sadness for her and then you will be thankful for every little thing that you have. Truly one of the best books that I have read so far this year.

I won't tag anyone, mainly because I don't think that anyone reads this blog anymore. :-)

If you're reading, go ahead and comment. Would it kill ya? :-)

Here are my sentences for you:

"A tight tunic made of metal links. Beautiful silver leather shin guards showing the legs to good advantage, and a silver shield and a high silver helmet, and a cape. A great costume. And I was very surefooted. So the fact that the stairs were only about three and a half feet wide with a high narrow step and had no railings did not bother me at all."

There was a photo on page 123, so I had to move on to page 124 of Me: Stories of My Life by Katharine Hepburn. I loved the book!

I am at work with no 'books' near by. If I remember I'll try to do this when I get home. For the record, I still read!!

Hey, girl, I've been checking out your blog now and then. Fun to get a glimpse of your life! I was so psyched last year at this time when a bunch of friends and I were doing the 365 project (a photo a day) together because it meant people were actually looking at my blog. Now I'm a lone wolf, posting occasional pics and generally talking to myself. LOL
