Fine Art Friday

I have decided to participate in Fine Art Friday. I have seen Donna do it, and I guess I really am a joiner.

This week I have chosen Jackson Pollock.

I will do all of the art that I have actually seen in person because I think that is more interesting. I first saw Jackson Pollock's work at the Museum of Modern Art. I fell in love at first sight. Something about the texture of the paint and the randomness of the design spoke to me. I like art that makes me think about what the artist could have been feeling when they created the piece.

As a linear thinking person, I admire his ability of create from an organic state. To let creativity and freedom replace the constraints of "typical" art.

If I could afford it, I would fill my home with original works of art. Maybe I should flip the couch, there's always spare change in there.

Next week I am going to unveil the new blog and new name. I know all two of you are holding your breath with anticipation. yuck-yuck.

Yay for the fine art Friday.

Did you see the Jackson Pollock movie?
The one about the old lady who found a J.P. painting?

I can't wait to see the new title to your blog.

I really have been wracking (sp?) my little brain and just can't come up with something funny with Running in it.....

No, Donna, I didn't see that one. I did see the one with Ed Harris and loved it, though.

Thanks, Cara!

I love Pollock too. I have been playing with acrylic paints and studying his techniques- there is a lot more to his work than just drizzled paint!

Also, I like Run, Mother, Run. for your blog title, too.
