My Funny Husband

Yesterday we were sitting in church and our pastor had just begun his sermon on the beatitudes. At our church when you sign your child in, you are given a bracelet with a number attached to it. Should your child need you during service they flash your number in the number box. (It looks like the numbers at a deli counter.) We have rarely been called out of service for our kids. But yesterday was our day! All of a sudden Kevin says, "Joe." I look and sure enough #20 is up there. I leave and begin to walk to the nursery. Kim, the most wonderful nursery coordinator ever, is waiting at the door for me. She grabs my shoulders and says, "Elaine, you have just fallen off of the pedestal I had you on for being the best mother in the world. Joe wet himself and, honey, he has no diaper on! Did you dress him this morning?" I gleefully reply, "No, Kevin did!!" She says, "Oh thank the Lord, you are back up on the pedestal!" We had a good laugh and I went to see Joe. Kevin, in his usual, how can I help you honey attitude, dressed Joe yesterday. The boys were peppering him with questions about what kind of adventure they were going to go on after church and I am sure he probably just got distracted. Poor Kevin, he felt so bad!

On the way home from church I was telling Kevin about a coupon I received in the mail for 20% off all merchandise at the store where those absolutely adorable sandals are. He was not nearly as excited as I was about this bit of information. He said, "What do you want, to get out of debt so we can move to North Carolina or have new sandals?" I said I want to wear my new sandals in North Carolina. He does not find me as hysterical as I find myself!

This morning the boys watched Bill Nye the Science Guy and the Human Body. I watched the last 15 minutes with them and it was great, I highly recommend it. John read a book called, Skeleton, Skeletons: All About Bones, to Jeremy. I was preparing lunch in the kitchen listening to all of the learning and laughing that was going on in the family room and just loving it.

One last thing, we started reading Farmer Boy this morning and so far the consensus is: Thumbs Up!

Poor Joe & poor Kevin! That is a funny story though. I went on the website of the financial guy you mentioned, but the steps included a Debt Snowball, but no more info. How do I get that info? I agree, new sandals in NC are the way to go and I think you are very funny. Do you really want to move? You'd really be missed...

Looks like I raised you right. New sandals in N.C. - good answer.

I think 20% off is a perfect excuse for new sandals.

Oops! I forgot to say this--- Oh, happy day! I am coming to NJ with my credit card and I think it still works for sandals.

Poor little guy, oh and poor big guy. He's sweet to help out though, right?

You sound like me, I would say the exact same thing about the sandals and wearing them IN NC.

When are you expecting to move there? We were in Bryson City right before Christmas. We stayed in a cabin ( with a hot tub on the front porch ) in the mountains. Very nice!

Blessings!

*hee hee hee* I have threatened for seven years to make a button for the children to wear that says, "Daddy dressed me today!" I figured it would eliminate my guilt and need to explain the attire and/or lack of back up supplies while allowing Daddy free reign to help out. ;-)

What's this about a move? I am SO behind!
