A Morning Blog!

I should change my name to Blog Once a Week, that's more appropriate. The problem is that the computer is in the FROG or family room over the garage, FROG just sounds funnier! I only get up here to do schoolwork with the boys and when we are working I can't blog, for obvious reasons.

This morning I woke up with one goal, to blog. So here it is.

We have been very busy with various activities such as school, skateboarding, painting, church, women's bible study, playing with new friends, chatting with new neighbors and shed building. I'm not the one doing the shed building, mind you.

My Uncle Joe, mom's brother, drove up from Florida to help Kevin build a shed. He wanted to help us move in and get settled but wasn't able to be here so instead he offered his expert construction skills and the men built a fabulous shed. Or as I like to call it, Kevin's summer home. *snort*

The shed building took place yesterday. Just as the boys and I were getting ready to start schoolwork, Uncle Joe came in and asked, "Laney, can I give the boys a 30 minute shop lesson?" The boys were thrilled at the thought of working with the men and so I said yes, they could go. The 30 minute shop lesson turned into an eight hour day, but they learned a lot, had fun and spent time with their beloved Uncle Joe.

I meant to post picturesw of the shed and some updated house pictures, but the camera is all the way downstairs in the kitchen so I will do it tomorrow.

Look to the finish!

Sounds like you are all doing great!

What a cool thing--to build a shed and be able to mark it down as school!

Enjoy!

I can't wait to see the pictures. I am so glad to hear that your life in NC is going so well and you're getting settled, everyone is making new friends, and finding your way in a new place.
Great job!

Those shop lessons will serve your boys well in life!

Can you send them over to build one for us? :-)

I'm so happy for you! Tell us about your church, your neighborhood. How are the boys enjoying it? Sounds like the transition is coming along beautifully. Love the morning blog thing - and you didn't write a to-do list! You need to come tutor me on that. :-)

Aren't you blessed to have an Uncle with such talent! We've been pricing sheds and oh boy...they are pricey.
