Windows for Dy

So here's the deal. Dy asked to see our windows and curtains and such, so I am obliging my good buddy. This is our dining room, the only truly completed room in the whole house which totally figures because we only use it when the President comes over for dinner. You didn't know that I knew Dubya, didya? O, I slay me!!

My mother and I repainted the top half of this room because the previous owners had it painted a wretched granny smith apple color. This color is called Dry Sage but in these pictures it looks more like Army Recruit T-shirt. Hmmm. The white tab top curtains and rods were left by the aforementioned owners and I really like how they look so they stayed.

This is my living room window. Duh. That right hand corner is just screaming for a chaise lounge. Do you hear the screaming, too?

Warning!Warning! Obscene curtain content ahead. If you knew just how anal I really am, you would know that I am only posting these pictures because I think Dy is terrific. Otherwise, they would not ever be seen on the internet.

These curtains left their fly open. They no longer stay together and I can't do anything about it. To make matters worse there are vertical blinds, also known as the world's most annoying invention, behind them . The brackets make them stand eight inches off of the wall and it makes the curtains look even funkier. This is my bedroom and I will post a nicer picture as soon as Kevin cleans up his side of the bed. You have been outed on the internet, baby!

I put this one in for my sister. She bought me that gorgeous wreath a few years ago. Everytime I see it, it makes me smile.

So there you have it!

Look to the finish!

Oh, I love the wall color...it's great. And BLINDS, they are nothing but dust traps...I can't stand them, yet we have them through out, lol.

I'm looking!

THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!

These are awesome pictures. I appreciate it tremendously.

Have you tried ironing the curtains with the open fly? Or perhaps tacking them together with small stitches - just the outer panels on each side? Hmmm. They're very pretty, nonetheless.

And can I take a moment to say that I am SO glad to see tab-topped curtains in the dining room! YAY! I have those in a light ecru that I wanted to put in the dining room, but we weren't sure they'd look okay. :-) I feel better now. Thank you.

I am waiting to see pictures of the living room in all it's vast splendor. When will that be?

Love what you've done with the place, dah-ling! Absolutely wonderful!

We live in a fairly new house, about 12 years old. These new houses all have open floor plans. They are truly the bane of my existence. I've been begging dh for an "older" home, one that has some character, one that doesn't have 25 foot ceilings. I've been longing for a dining room like that, where I can paint the walls and make it all cute-like.

You have done such a wonderful job decorating your new home. Thanks for posting these pictures.

What a pretty house!

I almost bought chairs JUST like your dining room chairs, but let someone who shall remain nameless talk me into the plain spindle back. I feel a pang every time I see those pretty chairs.

Blessings in your new home!
