My Fair Laney

Henry Higgins: Why can't a woman be more like a man?

Henry Higgins:You impudent hussy!

Mrs. Higgins: Henry! What a disagreeable surprise.

Eliza Doolittle: The difference between a lady and a flower girl is not how she behaves, but how she is treated.

Henry Higgins: Now, try it again.
Eliza Doolittle: The rine in spine sties minely in the pline.
Henry Higgins: The rain in Spain stays mainly in the plain.
Eliza Doolittle: Didn't I sy that?
Henry Higgins: No, Eliza, you didn't "sy" that, you didn't even "say" that, now every night before you get into bed, where you used to say your prayers, I want you to say "The rain in Spain stays mainly in the plain" fifty times. You'll learn to get much further with the Lord if you learn not to offend His ears.

Last night I watched My Fair Lady, one of my all time favorite movies! The singing, the humor, Audrey Hepburn, what more could you ask for? My favorite song is the one Eliza sings about Henry when she realizes she loves him, "I could have danced all night, I could have danced all night..." I just love this movie!

Sorry I have not been around, we have been running to and fro with Vacation Bible School and the pool drama. (More about that later)

Have a great day!

Hey! We just brought 'My Fair Lady' home from the library. I *love* it.

What about the part at the horse race? The refined accent and the slang vocabulary?

"And what are you sniggering at?"

Love. It.

I am sad that I grew up without seeing so many of the classics. My college roommates couldn't believe I had never seen the Sound of Music or MAry Poppins. My Fair Lady, Breakfast at Tiffany's, Casablanca- all on my list to see before I die.
