Sorry, gang, I know I should have posted yesterday, take me to task if you must!
I have nothing to report except that Kevin felt the interview went well, it was a telephone interview with three men. We won't know anything for a week or less. We have to wait. I hate waiting.
One of the last questions they asked him was very funny. The guy who called him two weeks ago said, " My daddy says it's a dumb dog who won't wag his own tail. Tell us why we should hire you." Too funny! I love those southern colloquialisms!
Kevin, admittedly, is not good at selling himself. He is humble and usually lets his work and accomplishments speak for themself, so that was a stretch for him. One of the things about him though, is his ability to appear confident even when he is feeling nervous. If it was me, I probably would have started to cry or said something really stupid like, "I can vacuum a two story house in less than 3 minutes or you should see me shop for shoes."
Kevin said that just before the interview was over, Eric said to him, "Don't read anything into this question, it's just a simple question. What did you do to prepare for this interview?" Kevin said, "Honestly, I got up this morning and I prayed. I was feeling a little anxious but my wife told me to just be myself. There was really nothing I could do to prepare, I am what I am. (I'm Popeye the Sailor Man!) He didn't mention the Popeye part. (he-he)
Whatever happens is fine. I promise, the minute we know, you'll know!

Sounds like he was down to Earth and himself, can't be better than that. If they are looking for bells and whistles and a facade maybe it's not the job for him ya know? At least you can relax knowing if they *DO* hire him it's a perfect fit and if they don't, he's better off anyway!
LOL@the dog thing & Popeye...

Good news. Good news.

I would have hired you on your vacuuming ability alone, lol. You gave your husband very good advice, and how wise of him to just pray because he was feeling uptight.
Hang in there, the wait will be over soon.
I just said a prayer for you guys. Hang in there! :0)
LOL. You know, for DH's last job interview, he was asked the same "what did you do to get ready" question. He said, "I ironed my shirt and made sure I'd packed clean socks." The guy raised an eyebrow and smiled a little, so DH went on, "If I don't know what I need to know to get this job, there is nothing I can do before breakfast to figure it out. So here I am, ready to work." Evidently, that worked. Sounds like it was good (although I cannot imagine trying to talk to three people on one phone line - chat rooms confuse me! LOL!)
Still praying!
