Catching Up

Day 10 of the Fat Flush and I have lost five pounds but more importantly, I got into my shorts with no problem yesterday and I bought a new bikini that I am not embarrassed to wear. I feel less giggly in the tushie area and thinner in my upper body. I feel great and I can't believe that my coffee craving has disappeared as well as my carbohydrate cravings for sugary foods. It's amazing!

Kevin started and ended the Fat Flush last Friday. He couldn't deal with the headache and by 8 p.m. that night he had taken aspirin and was eating a bowl of granola. LOL Poor thing, I felt bad that his headache was so bad and I tried to get him to continue but he just didn't have it in him. Maybe another time.

Over the weekend I read Ethan Frome by Edith Wharton. I really enjoyed it, although it was a different kind of book for me, but good nonetheless. I also have an Anne Tyler book and a Jacqueline Mitchard book. So many books, so little quiet time.

Summer is upon us and we are taking full advantage of living 8 miles from the beach. We were at the beach on Saturday and yesterday. The boys are really into the water sports surfing and skimboarding. John, bless his heart, has been trying to surf using his boogeyboard. He is determined to learn how to surf. I really want to get him a surfboard. We'll see.

Jeremy is awesome on his skimboard. We saw a young man with a really cool professional skim board on Saturday. He was doing all of these wild tricks and spins. Well. That was all Jeremy needed to see. He is well on his way to being better than that guy!

Joe is still in his throw sand at everyone and command mommy to get him water in his bucket over and over again stage. I'll be glad when that stage is over.

Look to the finish!

Congratulations on your wonderful success with the Fat Flush.

How great that your clothes are fitting so well!

Sorry for your hubby...it is painful. My day two was hideous.

So glad your cravings are gone!!!

Congrats on the successful...um, flushing! :)

My grandparents retired to *where you are* and I have lots of wonderful memories of playing on those beaches with my cousins.

Nice going!! I have had the Fat Flush book & cookbook for quite sometime, but haven't tried it yet. Sounds like a good endeavor after I get over my surgeries.

Have a blessed week.

Namaste`

I remember when my littlest was in that phase - it made trips to the lake exhausting. Now we're in the "Daddy takes the older kids inner-tubing while the younger kids help drive the boat and Mommy reads on shore" phase. I'm loving it!

WOOHOO! Congrats on the diet and the new bikini - no bikini for me this summer, hahaha. My Mom once put my Dad on a diet, let's just say he stopped so they are still happily married. Good luck with the water sports - post some photos of the boys!

Hi Laney,
I can totally sympathize with your toddler woes. My son does that at the beach too... but he throws jsut about everything that is in his hands these days. It's like he all the sudden gets excited and then discovers oh yeah I'm holding something, and before you know it... up in the air it goes, just to watch it fall or maybe hit somebody. I will be none too happy when this throwing stage is done... but more so, I think my sister will be thrilled when he stops throwing since it was her son's head that was the most recent victim of his throwing.
I still like this age though, when they are cuddly, it is Oh so worth it all. :-)

Way to go, girlfriend!! I decided not to do Fat Flush, but to just go back to counting points with Weight Watchers. That has worked for me in the past. It is not as quick, but I think it is the best way for me! I'll let you know about my progress!!
