The Longest Post in the History of the World (or my blog)

Did you ever have one of those days where, so much happened and you had more conversations than you could count on one hand and the things that happened were really great but then you get home and someone asks you, "What have you been up to?" and you say, "Oh, nothing much?" Well, that's how its been for me.

That and the computer is alllll the waaaaay upstairs in the FROG.

Being that I really am a sloth at heart, I have decided to take the lazy way out and recap with pictures. BUT! I must warn you, this is a long post. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to get all the way to the end. (Or halfway, whatever.)

We decided, rather spontaneously, to go to Myrtle Beach for a few days last month. We went to Ripley's Believe it or Not Aquarium. Turns out, I Believe that I was overcharged and that I will Not return. Thankyouverymuch, Mr Ripley. The best part of the aquarium was the shark tunnel but it was lacking in large sharks. Or maybe we're just spoiled by the Jaws movies.

Our hotel suite was fabulous! The boys had their own room and we had our own room. Truth be told, I really do not enjoy sleeping in the same room as the boys for the frightening wake-up call. They stare at me until I am awake and if they see my eyelids flutter even the smallest amount they ask me, "Can we go to the pool?" Umm, yeah.

So here they are, in the hot tub. James Brown's hot tub party to be exact. (SNL people??) I can't explain the hot tub attraction but it made them happy and ...

I was able to float without being splashed or asked to make a whirlpool.

The Hard Rock Cafe. Party on, Wayne. I think Kevin and I enjoyed the HRC more than the kids. Everytime a song came on one of us would begin to sing and say, "Hey remember this song?" We're cool like that.

After we came home from Myrtle, the boys and I got ready to drive up to New Jersey to see my sister, brother and parents. The first full day there we hit the waterpark. Mucho funo. That's Spanish for it was a lot of fun. See, this is an educational blog.

Grandma and Joe. That blue ice pop took two days to wear off of his skin which is fine because babies look so cool with blue goatee's.

Ah, yes! Good, clean fun. This is my uncle(right) and my cousin (left) who graciously agreed to dress the part of hula girls for the luau themed bash. Nice flamingo.

My and my sister. Awww.

Here we have evidence of me caving on my principles in order to save my sanity. I firmly believed that we would be the family that read books and listened to stories on tape and talked and played car games while taking cross country trips. Turns out, we're the family who straps headphones on the kids, loads Finding Nemo into the DVD player and prays that there are no scratches on the disc.

We stayed in N.J. for six days. We came home on Sunday, rested on Monday and headed to Orlando on Tuesday to see my parents. We were meeting them for some business and decided that since we were in Mickey's part of town, we might as well go and see him.

First stop, Pirates of the Caribbean. This Disney worker was displaying less than "Happiest place on earth" behavior but the boys handled it well.

They protected me on the Jungle Cruise.

Poor Kevin. He woke up that morning feeling rather unwell and it went downhill from there. When I tell you that he sneezed no less than 200 times, I am not exaggerating. Just ask the guy who was in line in front of us for Peter Pan's flight. He was such a trooper though and we thanked him at the end of the day by getting him a huge bottle of Nyquil and a beer mug in which to drink it! Bottoms up, sweetie.

Be still my heart!

The race cars. The tragic scene of my meltdown. Some lady got stuck on the track and caused a huge traffic jam that forced all of the race cars to come to a dead stop. You can kind of see Joe's head there on the left. Poor thing, he kept asking me, "We going now, Mommy, we going?" I kept telling him that we had to wait for the lady in front of us to go before we could go anywhere. To make matters worse, the kid behind me kept on bumping into me. After the 7th or 8th time, I turned around and said, "You need to stop bumping into me. Now!"

The ride operators fixed the problem, after we were stuck on the track for 15 minutes, and graciously offered to let us ride again. I refused. She apologized. I told her that I was not mad, I just wanted to get out of the race car.

Aargh, Matey! You touch me medallion and it's off the Davey Jones locker wit ya! And, of course, every pillaging pirate has a binky.

At ten thirty at night, long after he should have been in bed, we finally put him on a ride that he wanted to go on. My dad was next to him literally in tears over the joy on Joe's face. I bribed him off the ride with promises of lollipops and cookies.

THE END.
