Happy Fall Y'all!

Pumpkins. Mums. Scarecrows. Spiced Pumpkin scented Yankee Candle.

Yeah, it's fall. The only difference is, it's 80 degrees here and there are no leaves crunching under my feet.

That's o.k., I can take the heat.

What happens when you mix the new Pottery Barn catalog with a free shipping on select items insert, and a girl who really likes Pottery Barn?

This...

Behold!! (This is really for my sister who wanted to see what I bought.)

Today we went on a hayride and pumpkin picking. If you're 2 you say, "Haywide and punkin pwickin." The 2 year old way is way cuter.

On the way we there we passed a lot of farms, one of them was a cotton farm. The boys and I had a lengthy discussion about cotton pickin' and farming. We decided that we would want to live on a farm and own cows and horses.

We also passed a lot of road kill, which, for some strange reason they really liked looking at. I will never understand the male fascination with animals smooshed on the road. Rotting carcass? Way cool! Guts spread to kingdom come? Alright!

Blech!

Pumpkin Warrior and his humble servants.

Look to the finish!

We're having a lovely Indian Summer, with it in the 70s during the day and down below freezing at night. The leaves have started to change and we haven't yet hit the rainy, mucky part of fall. I'm loving it! And hey, you guys got to go punkin pickin' in shorts - what could be better than that?

Are you kidding? Zorak turned roadkill into a driving game! The first one to identify roadkill gets to pick who ought to hold it on the drive. (Thankfully, not really, actually... we don't even slow down.) But you would not believe the laughter and giggling that ensues from hearing someone shout, "Raccoon! Smidge gets it!" or, worse yet, if you MISidentify something, you have to carry it. And I know it's imaginary, but I make darned certain I know what it is before I say a word. There are just too many men in the car w/ me to risk it.
