Optime!

We have been hitting the Latin hard lately and it's beginning to pay off. Yes, I know that we have been in Prima for over a year, but now we are serious. The boys really enjoy Latin and truth be told, so do I.

Today was the first day that they "got it." We are currently on lesson 9, counting to 5 and learning the practical Latin phrase, Sedete or sit down.

Just as we were finishing John said, "Mommy, could you say 'Jeremy ambulo over there and get a cup off of the mensa and bring it here and sedete.'"

I said, absolutley kid!

Jeremy chimed in with, "Ambulo to the agua and watch out for the big undas."

Yes, I know that we slaughtered the grammar and all that but they were having fun and they wanted to keep going. Before we knew it, we had spent well over 35 minutes putting sentences together and laughing at how funny we sounded.

Who knew Latin could bring such joy!

Look to the finish!

The grammar will come with study, but that love of the language? You can't bottle that in a kit, or buy it at the store. That's the good stuff, there! I'm so glad you're enjoying it. I think it's my favorite study.

Optime, indeed!
